  • 1.  Theater Floor Paint and Primer

    Posted yesterday

    Hello!
We are painting our stage floors for our fall play Come from Away.

I am looking for anyone who has experience with the type of primer we should purchase as well as brand to paint the actual wood texture on the floor.

Any suggestions on paint brands, materials, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
We are having all holes filled and sanded down prior to this as well as the floor swept and mopped.

    Thank you!

    Crystal

Is this the actual wood stage floor that was stained at one time, typically stage floors are painted black, unless nice tongue and groove floor. If you are painting the floor and want to use primer, I recommend ROSCO Tough Prime, this comes in black or white, then if you wanted to paint wood grain on the floor ROSCO has multiple brown colors for the base grain color for dry brushing or a graining tool, I would seal over the paint with their clear matte finish.

I recommend flat or matte finish to remove the reflectivity on the lighting.
