    As many know, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the killing of Matthew Shepard. I'm interested in hosting a staged reading of the Laramie Project at school and wondering if there is an abridged or competition version of the play. Does Tectonic Theatre Company allow an abridged version to be produced, even as a staged reading? I appreciate any insight or available information on an abridged version of the play.

    Yes, they do!  As I recall (it's been awhile) we did two different length cuttings that we used in the early 2000's.  I sent them a list of the pages I wanted to use, and they sent me permission.  (There is a slight chance that I still have it in my files, if you need it.  Break a leg!
