I am looking for any tips on producing a beautiful run of Steel Magnolias. I am also looking for anyone in the Jackson, TN area who may have set pieces or props that they would be willing to loan/rent/sell for this production.

We just produced Steel Magnolias this spring.  We were able to find a few schools (or community theatre groups) in our area that had done the show.  We got the sink from another school.  We contacted some hairdresser/salons in the area for styling and dryer chairs.  We actually found a salon that had closed that sold us the styling chairs for a very reasonable price.  I wish we were closer to share some of our set pieces.

This is a beautiful show with such an ensemble cast.  Provide opportunities for your cast to connect and gel as a unit.  Our girls (on their own) had a sleepover to work on lines, play games, do some cooking, and really bond with each other.
