Hi Erika
If you are using fishing line (which is perfectly fine to do), please do NOT use the plastic monofiliment us old folks grew up with. On Amazon, search for Black Fishing Line and refine your search from there. It comes in nylon, dacron, kevlar, and other super strong materials, and look for BRAIDED so your load is not reliant on one strand. You can get it from 10 lbs to 300 lbs, but I recommend targeting something at least twice as strong as you need, maybe 3x. Granted, its only fabric, so if it falls, no harm done, but failing to plan is planning to fail.
Also, do NOT rig from your curtain. Have all lines attached to the batten or trav track if you are using the main as a guillitine or attach to the trav carriers if you are using the main as a traveler.
Hope this helps :-)

I'm thinking something like this...
Fishing line could be used for sure.
But how would I stop the line from ripping the fabric?

No Safety pins!!!!!!!! I think you had the right idea about hanging from the bar. Could you drop fishing line drown from the bar to the heights you want and attach to that? Or something similar, which avoids affixing directly to the curtain?
Best wishes,
Guy

So let's say I wanted to attach something to our center stage curtain...
Let's say... a LOT of something....like gossamer...
What would I use to attach it? I'm thinking safety pins, but I'm thinking the amount will be a ton
and it will damage the fabric...
Any suggestions??
We've draped from the bar and taped from behind.. but I want horizontal lines this time not vertical...
