The Innovative Playwright Instruction Award (IPIA) was established to honor one full-time K-12 teacher* each year for innovation in teaching playwriting. Nominate your favorite teacher (including yourself). To apply, you will need a CV or Resume, 2 Letters of Recommendation, 3 Samples of Student Work, and a Statement of Purpose.
The awardee receives:

A Certificate and $1000 Honorarium

SETC registration for the SETC Annual Convention for the award year

A ticket to the Awards Gala

Registration for the Teacher's Institute at the SETC Annual Convention for the award year

Reimbursement of up to $600 to cover hotel accommodations to attend the Convention.

Recognition at the Convention

Recognition in a SETC publication.
*Applicant must be a full-time K-12 teacher. Teaching Artists and Assistants are not eligible for this award. The place of employment or place of permanent residence of the award applicant must be within the SETC region of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, & West Virginia.
