I'm scheduling rehearsals for my fall play.  Does anyone have a recommendation on a great way to collect all the scheduling conflicts from their students other than paper?

    Hi!
The system I inherited from the teacher I replaced was alllll paper, and this spreadsheet was my minor innovation for the fall. I'm sure there's a better way, but so far it's helped a lot. I have all their stated conflicts in one place, and I can keep it as a live document for them to update as time passes.

Feel free to make a copy and modify, if it looks helpful to you! :)

    Warmly,

    Annie

We use google forms. It's a great way to collect all student data digitally and have it saved in one place. For all of our auditions we require the actors to fill out an Audition Form and our techies fill out a Techie Application. In addition to all the other necessary audition/application information we also ask for all their known conflicts.  You could use google forms to just collect scheduling conflicts too and then print all the responses in a spreadsheet.

We tried www.cur8.com this fall. Students upload their headshot, bio, and conflicts onto the site before auditions. It is easy to see who has prio engagements.
Other than paper submissions, we used Google Forms in the past. Hope this helps you create your calendar.

Yes, I use a google form. I've enclosed screenshots of the form and then the responses that come with them.

I then create a master schedule based on the conflicts.

I'm sure that if you're really well versed in google sheets you can create some sort of "pivot table" to sort the data, but I don't have time to do that currently.

It's been working for me for a while. Slight pain, but really helpful. I only call students when I am rehearsing them.
