    Hello! I searched past threads and saw great feedback about your online ticketing company choices- and I am between two and would love some insight/ pros and cons. I found Ludus at a theatre conference and they seem wonderful- curious if anyone has used them and how you check people in at the door? Scanners? A list? Regrading Booktix- did you print tickets for every patron if they ordered online, then have them pick them up at will call? Did you have glitches with scanners?

    Between the two, which seemed the most user friendly?

    For context, I have used Ticket River for years and printed the tickets and had people pick them up at the door and then tore the tickets. We are a small rural community with reserved seating.

    We use BookTix although I understand Ludus is great, too.

    We do not print any tickets for patrons using booktix. The patron either arrives with a ticket they print or with a QR code they are sent via email -- we can scan this using a smartphone. It is fast and easy. If the patron has neither of these, we can look them up and check them in ourselves using the app on a smart phone. It is fast and easy. My parents l-o-v-e LOVE the upgrades to the BookTix system.

    We have used Ludus for a few years now--they are great! Very responsive if you have questions especially when setting it up for the first time.  We scan people in at the door - no need for you to print paper tickets.  (If they purchase a ticket at the door, we write their seat numbers on a mock ticket for them.) Folks can print at home if they wish.  We also have reserved seating. The website is very user friendly.  We let all students in our district in free - and they even gave us a section on the website specifically so students can reserve their free tickets.  They have choices as to when you receive your money -- it can be daily or all at the end--your choice.  10/10 for us!
