Can someone explain to me the significance of the words that are in red in the Standards? I'd appreciate it, thank you.

    Hi
I believe imagined worlds refers to worlds that are fantasy worlds that the students think up that are "new"  to them
Improvised refers to stories or scenes that are developed through improvisation as opposed to a written story or scene  The students develop them on their own with guidance from the teacher
Given circumstances are anything that is mentioned in a scene or story..... these are the "have tos" that must be considered when creating a character or developing a design for a dramatic production. An example is " The Grinch made himself a Santa suit" or "According to this blueprint..." In the first one the costumer knows they have to create a homemade looking Santa suit.  in the second one the props person knows they need a blueprint for the scene.
Staging refers to an actual production... all elements of the play will be used .. a performance   I believe that is what staging refers to ... actually putting it together .
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

The terms in red appear in the Theatre Standards Glossary.

    Thanks,
