I do a play analysis assignment. I let them choose from 3-5 plays to read and give them a document that outlines the analysis work. Happy to share if you send me your email.

Subject: MakeUp Assignment?
I have returned back to the theatre classroom after 5 years! Hooray! ...Wait, how dare that student is absent during my beautifully designed curriculum! Help! There is no way they can complete this group assignment on their own!
Most of the graded assignments in my Fundamentals of Theatre course are group based performance projects. Some kids are still missing a full week, so they are missing every part of the group project, the planning and the performance. What can I do as an alternative assignment? I have a textbook....well, one, it turns out they threw away the other 35 when I left the classroom **gasp**, or I would just assign them a chapter and review questions that correlate with our unit of study. What a horrible fate to our beloved "The Stage and the School"! Brand new too!!
Before I order more books, I was wondering what you all did as alternative assignments for your students.
