Hell!

This is only my second year on the producing side of things, and so I'm very new to licensing shows. Last year MTI replied to all requests within a few hours. Two of the (hopeful) shows this year are from Concord, and in the auto reply email said a response could take up to 6 weeks! I did reach out to ask what could cause a denial of a request, but in the end the answer was just "it's up to 3rd parties". Does anyone have any stories of their own timeline getting a license from Concord?

With the school year ending soon, if these get denied, trying to meet with admin about replacement shows will be quite a headache!

Thank you for sharing these thoughts. We hear your frustration and apologize for any inconvenience.

While many shows in our catalogue license automatically, others require additional clearances from the rightsholders due to things like location or other title-specific factors. Applications for restricted titles can take up to six weeks (though it's often much faster!). We recommend applying as far in advance as possible to make sure there's time to obtain the necessary clearances and accommodate your timeline. As applying for a license doesn't lock you into paying for a show or moving forward, we advise applying prior to starting the planning and approval process with your school so you have all information.

The titles you're interested in do require a bit of extra time, so I'll email you to get into specifics. Please be assured that our team is doing all we can to get you an answer as soon as possible.
