    I am looking for the large feather fans needed for "All I Need is Love" in Chicago. We have found some that I think are outrageously priced but am looking for something more reasonably priced. Please send along any suggestions you have for this sort of thing.

    Agreed. Feathers are a beast in a budget!!  I have done several hats/masks that I wanted to have elaborate feathers, and the best option I found for purchase is eBay. It takes a month for them to get here from overseas, but the cost, I have found, is significantly cheaper.  For the most part, they have been great quality too.  Just make sure you really read the description and dimensions if you have specific needs.  You can also find "ok" fans on there too. Might want to splurge on these more since you will be adding some weight to them. And I would suggest wood instead of plastic fans if you are going to hot glue those feathers on there.

    I've done that number a few times.  I've used large hearts cut out of styrofoam (used for housing insulation--very cheap) and they worked beautifully!
