Subject: Help!- Summer Reading
Hey everyone! Happy Summer! I am a new theatre teacher, just finishing up my second year as an assistant director, and it is likely that I will be moving on to be a head director of a high school program very soon. I am feeling relatively unprepared so I want to use the summer to get some reading done.
Please recommend me what books/texts have been most helpful for you as a theatre teacher and director! I am looking for the following-
- Books that go over the essentials of acting
- Books that go over the essentials of tech productions
- Books that aid in the classroom (lessons, workshops, activities, etc)
- Plays that are great for productions or classroom reading
I know this is super broad, but please give me any recs you have! It would help a lot.
