We love to go ALL OUT for our Induction ceremony! Here are some ideas...
1) Our council members pick a theme and decorate the lobby of our auditorium
2) Have dinner for the new inductees, their families, and all current members before induction
3) Have slots for students to perform a song, monologue, improv, special talent, etc. (all approved first)
4) Have a running script like the Tony awards, and play music when the speeches go too long
5) Students vote on a google form for various awards: MVP on Tech crew for a play/musical, Rookie of the Year, Best Supporting Actress, Best Stage Bit, etc. and those are the awards announced throughout the evening
6) Dress up in formal attire, or, depending on the theme, dress in costume
7) Upcoming season reveal through video, game, or other creative option
8) Use the ITS council to announce new inductees
9) Have a "Drama Mama" award that the student the previous year passes down to another thespian the following year
10) Or, keep it simple, and just have a dance party at the end!!!

Subject: First induction ceremony
Hi there!
I am holding my first induction ceremony for our students in our troupe this week. Our school hasn't had an induction ceremony in several years. Im trying to think of extra details to make the night special. We are going to do a candle ceremony, Im going to have them start a new chapter book, and I was thinking of having inducted members sign a painted star in our dressing rooms. What have you done in the past for your induction ceremony that was extra special that the kids enjoyed?
Thanks!
