Ahhhhh  Winter Break….you survived 1st semester!  You probably have a show or two done, your classes are moving along, your theatre club is hopefully functioning. Now is a great time to look at what is working and what needs your attention.  I like to start with the positive…What is working for you?  What went well?  What surprised you?   Next,  What did not work? What is frustrating you?  What can you change?  Some of you will have all new classes and some will have students returning in January but you have a clean slate and you can make some changes mid-stream.  Write down 2-3 things you would like to implement next semester and make a plan.  This is not a time to beat yourself up!  Teaching is a dynamic profession and what works this year, may or may not work next year.  Put these goals where you can see them.  Don’t go overboard!  Think if I did “this” next semester, I think it will be better.  Now go do something you enjoy doing outside of school to remind yourself that you deserve it.  You have worked hard and need to do something for yourself!  I hope you all enjoy your winter break!
