Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!
I'm working on a design for "Antigone Now," and instead of the suggestions in the script for Antigone's execution I would like to use an electric-chair method.
What I'd like to do is create a chair (that doubles as Creon's throne earlier in the play) with frosted Plexiglass (or something similar) in the seat and back, and put 5000LM lights inside the chair to activate at the moment of death, so she is suddenly, blindingly lit from beneath.
This morning I thought that since we're not cast yet, and don't know the size of our Antigone, lighting the chair might not work as well as I want and perhaps the lights and frosted panes should be in the floor around the chair instead of inside it.
HOWEVER. Will frosted half-inch Plexiglass be able to take weight, when stood on (or perhaps the weight of a sitting person in a chair)? I there a sturdy material with similar function that you would recommend using instead?
