I want to use about 30 seconds max. of "in Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel in our show, Kodachrome.  My license says I must obtain rights outside of Concord. I tried a copyright clearing house but they replied that they would start the process as soon as they received my $400 downpayment. We don't have that kind of budget for this show. Does anyone know another way to obtain the rights to the song? Does anyone know any other possible substitutions? Thanks for your help.

Not sure how these "previews" will display on the chat, but here are the links I found.

BMI did a post about Peter Gabriel, so most likely BMI holds the licensing rights:

Does your school have an ASCAP license to cover band and chorus? Sometimes that covers you as well.

Does your school play music (like popular radio music, not the marching or pep band) at sporting events?  If so, they should have an ASCAP and/or BMI license that would also apply to you.  That's the license radio stations have to play music.  Schools or districts should have one to play music at games and such.  My school has one.  I've heard others are covered through their school district license.  (I did research on this for when we were doing She Kills Monsters last year.)
