Hi! For those of you who have done Chicago (Teen Edition), what was the experience for your ensemble?  I feel like the shows I have had success with have leads, substantial supporting roles, and a fun ensemble. Chicago feels like it has two of those three: great lead parts and a fun ensemble, but not a whole lot in the middle. What was everyone's experience?

We just did Chicago: Teen Edition last spring and I would say that it has all of the three elements that you are looking for from your post.

The Merry Murderesses, Miss Sunshine, the people of the court, newspaper headlines, etc gave everyone in my cast a little place to shine. The ensemble was in SO much that really, this shownhas the hardest working ensemble because of how much there is to learn and do.

We LOOOOVED! Doing the high school version.  We had a large ensemble (over 40) and they WORKED in the production numbers.  Some of the leads even joked that the ensemble had more stage time than they did!  Be sure to take time working on the ensemble's music.  In our experience, the ensemble was dedicated to the choreo (and it showed!), but needed to spend more time reviewing and strengthening the group vocals.
