Hey all!

I just got assigned a project for my Stagecraft class. I was wondering if any of you knew any tips for getting cheap/reduced material or tools-whether that be metal, wood, or any tools at all. 

Obviously, I understand it's important to assess the quality of anything used in the shop, but I was wondering if y'all know anything I'm missing.

I am a huge fan of https://www.freecycle.org/ and even browse when not looking for anything in particular. It's an environmentally-friendly site for giving away unwanted items, and I've picked up not only donated tools but also furniture and props-building materials. You can also put in a request for items you need, which is how I got period-appropriate phones and suitcases for Annie!
