Calling all PA Theatre Educators

  • 1.  Calling all PA Theatre Educators

Great news for educational theatre in Pennsylvania!  The PA Arts Standards have been revised and are now a complete set of discipline specific standards.  The new standards, if approved by the State Board, will include theatre specific learning goals you can use for learning goals, curriculum building and advocacy.  What a tremendous boon to our programs!  However, they are not yet approved.  They were written by a team of PA theatre educators and submitted to the board, and are now in the next step- public review.  We need teacher voices!  If you are a PA Theatre Educator (or Dance, Art, Music or Media Arts), please take time to follow the link below and participate in responding to the standards as a part of the public review.  We need a strong showing of PA educators to demonstrate to the state board of education that the arts deserve standards of their own.

Follow the link below for more information, attend one of the Zoom meetings and be a part of the review.  Together we can make this a reality!
