  • 1.  California Theatre Advisor Stipend Amount?

    Posted 10-13-2023 19:29

    Hi there,

I am trying to do some research about stipend percentage averages. I was just informed that my stipend is 8% of my salary. I am aware that this is not an insignificant amount. However, it seems painfully low when I calculate the amount of hours I work outside of regular school hours. I have talked to my school's band director who works even more after school hours than I do and he, too, makes 8%. Is this pretty average? Would I be overstepping to inquire about negotiating for more? Any insight would be very helpful.

    Thanks in advance!

How much per hour are the custodians paid for working an after school hours event?  You should get paid at least that hourly rate.

I have a free resource for you, comparing sports coaches to the people who work on plays.  It's helps you explain to your admin why they are practically one and the same, and why theatre "coaches" should be paid just as much.  (Although, hourly, custodians are paid more than either - go figure!)
