Is anyone else having problems with Brown Paper Tickets/Events.com?   We are owed $13,000+ from productions from as far back as April 2022. They no longer take phone calls or respond.  Although we were told we were put to the top of their priority list, we have heard nothing.  If anyone has had any luck with contacting them, please let me know.  In the meantime, DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES or you may find yourself in the same situation.

It took three years to get back the $7000 they owed us. Our school lawyer had to get involved. One day, they returned the money.

I can not believe they are still doing business. Do NOT work with them.

Unfortunately, there are numerous articles/threads about how they still owe many, many groups substantial sums of money, and obviously Events.com hasn't made good on their promises to pay Brown Paper Tickets' debt. Here's an article from October 2022, and it sounds like things haven't gotten much better:

    https://www.ticketnews.com/2022/10/ticketing-company-still-owes-venues-thousands-of-dollars/

I'd recommend Ludus, Booktix, ShowTix4U, On the Stage or any of a number of much more reliable companies going forward. In terms of the money you're owed, you might reach out to the California AG's office, as my guess is that many California groups are owed money. Perhaps they would intervene on your collective behalf.

    Cheers,
    Jonathan

We have been using Ludus for our last 6 shows and couldn't be happier!  They are really easy to work with and you can access your money in one lump sum at the end of your production or day by day.  They are very responsive to questions.  The platform was developed by a former drama teacher and it's clear that they understand our specific needs as a school.  I absolutely recommend them!! You will not be disappointed!!

I moved on from BPT at the right time -- just before they started stiffing people.  If I were you I would move on, too, plenty of good ticket-selling apps out there. We use BookTix and are very happy with them. I know Ludus is very good and they tempt me every year to switch.

Finally, I would get my school district involved in collecting that money.  Hopefully you have access to an attorney paid by the district who can help you retrieve this money. If you wait on BPT to make it right you will be waiting a long time.

Thank you for the recommendations everyone, but I moved to a different ticket company a year ago. I was just hoping someone had found another route to retrieving their money. We will keep pursuing.
