Here's a whole cast photo (I had it on my phone, not my computer). This shows a better view of all of the different ancestor costumes/wigs. We had lots of different skin tones for ancestors and didn't want to do all that makeup - so they are all wearing a spandex suit that covers them from neck to toe ...

For some PD that my district allowed us to customize, I just viewed the webinar in the EDTA learning center about Intimacy Training (what a great resource - thank you, Cory et al for them!)...but there are suggestions on how to handle staging a kiss, working with student actors, using placeholder actions ...

Hi there! We did Addams last year - and created all of the costumes ourselves. We are located in south central PA, and could certainly talk about how to rent them to you. We had around 20 ancestors, I think. I'd have to talk to the other staff to see about costs, but I'm sure that we could continue ...

I know that there are HS pilot productions in place right now - so they may be holding off on adding any additional licensees until that process is complete. Truman HS (near Philadelphia) is one of them - and they open next week. TRW had a booth at ITF in Indiana, and it was a new acquisition for them ...

We use the distinction "Thespian Scholar" that EDTA has provided. There is a President's List, Vice President's List and standard Thespian Scholar ranks, if memory serves. We used to order pins for all of the different honors that students earned for a time, but kids didn't really care about the "bling" ...

I am going to do a food drive with the TOTS-EAT "game plan" - since in my area, teenagers are not permitted to go trick-or-treating in costume for candy. We are also going to ask the HS students to compete with their 1st period classes to see who can bring in the most items. (We do a ratio - number of ...

In the past, colleges will make lists and post them somewhere in the exhibitors area for folks to check. Some of them write the students name on a business card and tape it to the board under their college name... some just make a one-sheet list of names. The boards get updated as the reps have time ...

We did it in 2016 - my son was the stage manager... and it was tricky for calling cues with juggling two different scripts, since it isn't quite exactly the same. If you send me an email, I can share some files that he used that may help you to adapt to blending the two scripts together. Our breakdown ...

Check out the website: www.paperbackswap.com This website serves as a matchmaker between people who have books to unload, and people searching for books. I pay a nominal fee for an annual membership that allows an unlimited number of swaps. You create a virtual "bookshelf" for the items you want to ...

In our old space (we just went through a HS renovation) - we installed a floating floor with 4x8 panels installed on top of the glossy stage floor, taped together, etc. Because we covered the whole surface into the wings - it did not move at all. But this allowed us to paint the floor for our production ...

We have the banners that we have rented/shipped to other schools after we did the show in 2015. But I'm not sure that we have many of the props still hanging around, though. It is such a fun show!

Several years ago, we performed SEEK by Paul Fleischman as our fall play.   It was a young adult novel, written as dialogue, intended to be a radio play, I believe - and we asked for permission to stage it.  Since then, he has adapted it for the stage and it is licensed through Dramatic Publishing.  ...

I am the Thespy coordinator for PA Thespians, and verifying entries for this year's process, we didn't have many entries from Dramatic Publishing - but one was from my own student for a monologue entry.  She found it in an anthology book we had in our script library. I reached out to the company rep, ...

Hello! We did Freaky Friday a few years ago - you could pull that off with just a few boys - hopefully a tenor or two, though. For a play, you could consider Twelve Angry Jurors.  (You license Twelve Angry Men/Women - and then you are permitted to pull lines from either script based on how you ...

We just closed it this past weekend! We used the pre-recorded stage tracks - which had all of the musical zings, underscoring, and a lot of sound effects. Well worth the additional cost, which was not excessive. I saw it a month ago at a neighboring HS that used a piano, and that also worked well ...

I do not remember the cost (it was minimal) - but I do think that the goal is now to switch back to in-person events for the future.  I went to the one in NYC, and you'd need to factor in travel, hotel, meals and registration.   There are a few grants/scholarships for teachers that help to cover the ...

We have been fortunate that we sometimes have a student who has a part-time job at a shoe store. They have served as a liaison with the store to purchase the items at a discount. We got 2 pairs of Heeleys for Flotsjam & Jetsam because our piano player worked at DSW. Right now, I'm fortunate that my ...

I am only familiar with the RSC version - having done it in 2020 (closing weekend on March 7th, just before the pandemic).  I know that this is the version that most closely parallels the movie, which is what our community would expect. On a side note -and shameless plug -  we built ALL of the costumes, ...
