Hello again! A friend and I have been looking for weeks for a scene to do together for our competition coming up and we literally cannot find a thing. We have a 5 minute limit on a scene, but we can make cuts if any of you now some scenes that are a little longer. Our audition is Tuesday the 16th, so we are low on time. We seem to only find scenes with big arguments, which seems like the average. Please help us find some worthy scenes for our audition! Thank you!

What about the attic scene in Diary of Anne Frank?

Look at  "the Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket"    Great scene for Alice and Daniel when he confesses that he has the power to fly and asks here to run away with. Sort of a Wendy Peter Pan , but more contemprorary

Look at the opening scene of Little Footsteps. A good duet is going to have some kind of argument in it.  This one is more comical.

Saw a wonderful female/duet 'argument' scene, superbly comic, from the collection 'An Adult Evening with Shel Silverstein'. You want the scene 'One Tennis Shoe', in which a husband is confronting his wife delicately about his thinking that she is becoming a bag lady. Hysterical!

I love "Joe's Not Home" from 24 Hours AM.  It's technically a one act, so I'm not sure how that works for your competition.  There are some good pieces from Almost, Maine as well.

How about one of the scenes from Almost, Maine?  We did that this year and there is some good stuff in there. You might have to cut, but I found the show very easy to work with in that aspect.  Good luck!

There is a wonderful scene between Joan (of Arc) and the Dauphin in Jean Anouilh's play The Lark.

I thought of another play that has humor, pathos and drama. Blue Denim by James Leo Herlihy. It was controversial in 1958, as it deals with teen pregnancy and abortion. It remains surprisingly contemporary. Perhaps some issues never change.
