I am looking to purchase the Shrek cowl ( head and neck) and nose prosthetics. The only place I have found so far is one in Canada, but they have not been responsive to phone or email. Does anyone know of a US source for these? Or any ideas? Thanks. ------------------------------------------- Corinne Kravetz Drama Director Conard High School -------------------------------------------

My school's other theatre teacher is rehearsing Shrek right now.  We were contacted early on by Ross Schexnayder, Artistic Director of the Lagniappe Theatre Company in Lousiana (www.lagniappetheatre.com) - they have an extensive list of Shrek set, costume, prop, makeup, hair, and other items that they can rent either singly or in packages.  They have extensive photos from their production so you can see these items.  Don't know if they have the headgear, but give 'em a look.

Fxwarehouse sells shrek cowls and all other things shrek related. They sell out quickly, so place your order immediately. ------------------------------------------- Erin Coleman Drama Director -------------------------------------------

We open our production of Shrek next week. I've been working the last month and a half to secure the prosthetic. I thought I was set with NorthFur out of Canada - but never got a confirmation and price for my final order. After calling them extensively, and not being able to get through we went with FXwarehouse. The person we've been dealing with there is not very knowledgeable and is not easy to work with. She seems quite annoyed when you ask questions. Supposedly the order has been shipped. I'll let you know when it comes in if the items are what we expected. I have a plan B and C in place just in case. Break a leg with your production.

We did Shrek in the fall, and although Canada's Northfur fx's stuff was very good, I urge you to look elsewhere. It was impossible to reach them, and they promised many times to overnight products to us that never reached us. Our only saving grace was that a school 2 hours away did the show the weekend before us and were gracious enough to give us their pieces.

On a better note, I learned so much from the experience, makeup-wise. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to practice the application. :) Break a leg!

I also had a negative experience with Northfur FX.  It's too bad, they have great Shrek products.  We wound up going a different route.
