In California, our marching band students and certain choir classes can receive PE credit due to the physically demanding nature of these classes.  Outside of dance or musical dance theatre, does anybody's school system allow similar credit for a theatre class?  

My administration has indicated willingness to support such a class, but precedence would really help me sell it to the district if it became a possibility.

Several years ago, I taught at a high school in the Portland, Oregon area. I offered a Stage Movement class that received PE credit. I taught actor movement, stage combat and musical choreography; however, the class is no longer offered at that school.

A lot of schools in California offer credit PE credit for dance classes. If your administration is for it, make it happen. Having something like PE credit for Drama on the books will pay off for years.

Our school offers PE credit for the musical theater production class. I have a dance minor and it allowed me to get a supplementary in PE in CA.  That is usually the issue with the CA credential and who can teach dance/PE for theater.
