Thanks Pat. I work at a Tittle 1 school with a semester long course. I teach 6th, 7th and 8th general theatre arts classes. Many of my students have little drama experience. However, they are a great bunch of young people. I want to build a solid middle school program that is relevant for my student population.
Thanks for your feedback.

I am new to this group, but I have been teaching MS theater in California for 28 years. I teach a 6th grade quarter class as part of an elective wheel, a 7th/8th grade stagecraft class, a 7th/8th grade musical theater class, and I have also taught a 7th/8th grade drama performance class, and all the variations of the above that you can imagine. What is your schedule and class description? Let's get more specific here. Email is great, but if we share info here and attach documents and ideas, we can all share it!

WOW! I glad to know that I'm not the only one starting a new theatre program for grades 6th-8th. What I looking for are a curriculum map of some sort, lesson ideas, play ideas etc. Whatever you can share is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
