Hey Valerie & Jen,
We're so happy to hear that theatre groups around the country are striving to share theatre with their communities! #theatrefindsaway
Today we at ShowTix4U announced, with our partners at Music Theatre International and Broadway Media, a new streaming platform
that allows you to live stream, schedule prerecorded content for "viewing parties," and have video on demand.
We hope this helps solve the problem of bringing theatre to your audiences, while allowing schools to generate lost revenue from cancelled productions. We're launching in the next six weeks. We think that our platform will answer all of your questions regarding tying donations, tickets, and your show together. Feel free to reach out me for more info.

Subject: How do we get people to donate to our virtual theatre production?
I am currently working on a virtual performance of a one act musical with junior high students.
We are finding this a very exciting as well as a very challenging way to work.
We use Zoom to meet and rehearse. The technical differences in WiFi speeds, etc can be frustrating.
We will record the Zoom meetings for the different scenes, and then have students videotape and send their part of the musical numbers to be edited together.
Thank heavens I have 2 high school TV class students willing to help edit it all together.
Thank heavens Pioneer Drama is agreeable to this method, and our royalty fee for the musical now covers the video.
In the past, the students were able to sell tickets ($5) to the show as a way to help finish paying their Pay-to -Participate fee.
They are asking how we plan to do this with a recorded video of the show?
They also asked me "where" and "how" is the video to be released?
These are all excellent questions, and I have no idea what the answers are.
Do any of you have suggestions for either getting donations or how to proceed with releasing the video of our show?
Would there be a way to connect the two?
Thanks,
Valerie
