Hi folks, can you recommend any 3-4 week long programs for directors, especially any that accept international students? I have some terrific teachers who want to improve their skills and get new ideas for teahing theater. Thanks!

The Tennessee Arts Academy is in July in Nashville, Tennessee. The teachers rotate through three theatre classes each day. This summer the core classes are directing, acting for the camera, and clowning. The faculty members come from all over the country and are all top-notch. In addition to the daily core classes, there are also choice sessions each day, a nationally recognized arts speaker every afternoon, and at least one or two performances a day.  Broadway director Jeff Calhoun is one of the speakers and Alton Fitzgerald White (Broadway's Mufasa in The Lion King and Coalhouse in Ragtime) is one of the performers for the week. It is a six-day intensive (July14-19), goes from 8 AM to 5 PM every day (plus two nighttime activities), and is pretty non-stop. Very nice dorm rooms are available for a low rate and breakfast, lunch, and two dinners are included in the registration fee ($495). Hurry though - registration ends on June 30th and the theatre section is almost at capacity. Check out the website: http://www.tennesseeartsacademy.org/
