I almost always have to luxury of working with a live pit.  For the first time last year we used orchextra to supplement.  But I'm looking at producing a musical in our black box theatre and a live pit would be difficult for both space and sound reasons.  What other resources have you used with success?

I did Bat Boy The Musical in a black box and also Little Shop of Horrors - both used a small band and in a black box -the bands sounded awesome.  I too am used to using a  pit but the last two shows have been produced in the black box.  It can work..just select a smaller show

I prefer live music whenever possible. But after learning about Right on Cue Services, www.rightoncueservices.com/, I was very impressed with their high quality tracks, excellent customer service and good pricing. TRW, Samuel French and a few other companies now use ROCS for their shows. ------------------------------------------- Jim Hoare -------------------------------------------
