Does anyone have a source for renting the dead dog at the beginning of the show?  I'm also open to making one if good ideas can be shared.

I've inquired with the artistic director of our community theater that did CI this spring. He's open to rental. Here is the contact info:
    Jake Schaefer - jake@spoaknecivictheatre.org
Incidentally, I played Mrs. Shears, etc. and the dog prop made it very easy to play the level of upset. ;) I thought it was a good size and design for the space. Best wishes for a great run with such a special show!

    Hi Lenore,
We recently produced Curious Incident, and we have a dog prop to rent if you're interested. Please contact Morgan Corlew at morgan@playhouseonthesquare.org for information.

    Hi Lenore,

    We made our own.

    ingredients:
Largest stuffed dog I could find on Amazon about $50
Garden fork borrowed from a parent about 3 feet tall
Block of wooden painted to match our stage floor

We hammered the fork through the Dog (cut holes in fog to make it easier) into the wooden block.  Glue around the fork times as well. Paint blood on as desired.

    Good luck!

Fabulous suggestion!  Thanks so much.  I think getting a stuffed dog is the most realistic and cheapest idea.  What a time saver!  I had no idea there were so many realistic stuffed dogs available!
