I hope you are all enjoying your summer.  I just pulled my curtains out of storage and need them cleaned and rFire-Retardant reapplied.  Any suggestions in the So Cal area?

Rose Brand in Sun Valley is great with all things theatrical fabric - they may not do cleaning but in my experience they give great advice.

Check with Craig at Stagecraft in Oregon.  www.stagecraftindustries.com

If they can't help you, they probably know someone who can.

Stage curtains should be flame tested annually - kudos to you for taking this step!

Do you know the fabric of the curtains?  Velour, Cotton, velvet?  Also are they labeled fire proof applied or are they labeled as flame retardancy fabrics.  One is sprayed on, the other is woven into the fabrics.  Either way you want them to use a 100 percent pure dry cleaning solvent solution.  It will help maintain some of the original fireproofing chemicals.
I am not from Southern Cali, but I know there are many places that can do this.  Ask them before hand if they can reapply the fire proof chemicals there or do they send them out.  I know there are several here in NYC where they dry clean/ clean them and re apply on site.  This is a bonus.
Good luck and happy you are having them done correctly.
