    Friends and EdTA members,

The time has come and this is a call to service!  On September 1, the call for vita to run for the EdTA Board of Directors will be out!  We are looking for strong leaders, talented individuals who are willing to give their time and skills to leading this organization.

Specifically, the Nominating Committee is charged to seek 3 candidates; two for Board directors and one for Vice President. The Board director positions are three years each. The VP candidate is a five year commitment: two as VP, then two as President, and one as Past President.

All candidates must be EdTA members.

The call for vita comes September 1. All vita are due by September 28. After that, the Nominating Committee will meet and review vita.  The goal is to have at least two candidates per position, but no more than four per position. That's 12 candidates!  I KNOW there are at least 12 of you who would make fantastic candidates!!!

The election will take place from mid January to March 4. Those elected will take office July 1, 2020.

Please check out the description, time commitments, vita questions on the website. This is YOUR organization!  We need YOU!

If you need to ask questions, I'm sure any current Board member would be glad to share their involvement and time commitments. Or feel free to contact me, or ask questions here in the Community.

    Dear Debbie,

Are this positions volunteers, or paid? Can you tell us the kind of time commitment, and how many board meetings per year etc.

    Thank you,

    Laura

    Hi Laura,
    Great question!
Board members are required to attend 2 in person meetings per year: Summit in July and the annual February meeting in Cincinnati. Each of these lasts about 3 days. Keep in mind that Covid has changed many things and in July 2020, Summit was virtual.

In addition, Board members are strongly encouraged to attend Board meetings at ITF in June and the annual EdTA conference in September. Also there are phone meetings in April and December.
Additional phone meetings may be scheduled as the need arises.  The specific dates are posted on the application.

Before every meeting, Board members have access to documents and reports in order to prepare for meetings. It is a good idea to reserve a couple of hours to read & study these reports before meetings.

    I hope this helps!!!

These are volunteer positions. EdTA has in the past provided travel and lodging for the required in-person meetings.
