  • 1.  Compleat Works (Abridged) versus (Revised) Edition

Looking for anyone who has done or read the revised version (which is supposed to be more up to date) of The Compleat Works of Willm Shkspr (Abridged) by the Reduced Shakespeare Company.

What are the major differences between the two shows?

We did the revised edition about 4 years ago.  It definitely updates some of the cultural references and brings things a little more up to date with references to social media, etc.  Mostly that is in the banter before and in-between the playlets.  I don't remember any changes to the play episodes themselves, but I could be wrong.  I looked at both and chose the revised version. ( We just did the first act for a one-act competition, so I'm not much help on the Hamlet stuff in Act II.) Interestingly enough, we were challenged at our competition because another director had done the show several years before and didn't know there was a new version, but picked up on the changes.  That aside, my recommendation would be the revised version.
