I think you mean the clastic Thonet number 18 bentwood chair. Some chairs advertised as bentwood are more in the Charles Eames style which I do not think you want.
You can find several suppliers on Alibaba for prices under $35 each (plus S&H).
There is also i version in plastic that comes in black, grey or white for around $79.

I think a good option would be to call every theater within a forty mile radius and beg. Colleges, community theaters, churches that do productions. Other schools? Most theaters are willing to share - some for free, some for an ad in the program, some for money. We have used these exact chairs in many of our previous shows. I believe we borrowed them once from a college nearby and once from a community theater about forty miles south of us. Call everyone and beg!
Good luck!

Hello! I have been running in to a wall trying to find bentwood cabaret chairs. Has anyone used these before and might have any advice on places that lend/rent/sell them? I need to find about 30. Color is not as important as style and of course I'm working within a budget. I'm in Massachusetts, for reference. Appreciate any guidance anyone might be able to offer. Thank you!
