We do a musical every fall - usually one of the MTI Jr. selections. We rehearse after school three days a week and Saturday mornings. Tuesdays are music, Wednesdays are choreography, Thursdays are scene work, and on Saturdays we do whatever needs the most work. Usually choreography. Once all the songs and dances have been taught we start putting it all together.
We did Annie Jr last fall with 5 weeks of rehearsal and it was one of our best-received shows yet.
Have fun!

Subject: Preparing for Annie Jr.
I am in the process of laying out the schedule for
Annie Jr. , and as I plan, I was wondering if anyone had any helpful hints, tips, or advice to offer. I plan to have 3-4 beginning rehearsals that just focus on dancing/music and then dance call/music call before each rehearsal for the scene we are rehearsing. Kids are supplying their own costumes for the most part, except for some select pieces, and the skill project is to craft a costume piece as well.
Thanks!
