I am looking for suggestions for a hip hop song (has to be from a musical) to do a dance routine for the state festival.  Last year we did a number from "In the Heights," which coincidentally is our musical this year, so that is out.  It can even be a number that you could dance hip hop to that might not seem like it form the start.  Anything would help.

It's been a very long time since I've listened to it, but I wonder if there's anything you could use from the "Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk" cast recording?  I remember loving that album when it came out.  Admittedly it was more of a showcase for tap, but you still might want to give it a listen to see if anything is of use

I think there may be some in " Bring It On" and there is one in "Fame".

There was a show I saw in college called "The Seven"  I saw it performed in college and it was performed again in a few places but I never saw it get published.  Here is an article, you might have luck if you contact the composer directly.

Try "Footloose". It really lends itself well to getting the audience on its feet!

I think "Bring It On" may have some good ideas in it.

What about "Hollar if ya Hear Me?"  I don't know much about the show...but it is Tupac Shakur, seems like there should be something.

"Hair" could be turned into a fun hip-hop song. I'm sure you can do it better than Glee did it for the mashup several years ago.
