We considered 3D printing machines, but we can't afford that.  We have a dozen modern machines, but they belong to the home ed. department.
Does anyone have them or have a suggestion that is affordable?  We wanted something we could paint that would be lightweight and old fashioned.

We made some kind of cutouts out of cardboard or wood-did it several years ago-and put them in tables with wheels. We also used a Funken ring for the spark that shuts down the line of machines. It was more cartoony, but worked really well for our production.

Our vo-tech school students built ours from Styrofoam blocks and painted them.  Then we just placed them on tables on stage. Worked well.
