  • 1.  Comedies with Large Female Cast

    I have spent the last few years with advanced drama classes that have an equal or close to equal number of males and females.  Next year, however, I have only 3 males in my advanced drama class and 15-17 females.  I am looking for a full length comedy with many female roles and very few, if any, male roles.

    Last year we produced "The Girls of the Garden Club" by John Patrick.  Look for it at Samuel French.  Six main female parts with room for twenty five more.  There are two male roles, one of whom has no lines but gets a lot of the laughs.

    Hi Richard, Two of my favorites are Stage Door and Children's Hour - one comedy and one drama with plenty of female roles. Good luck! I wish I already knew my enrollment for next year ' it makes planning a season much easier.
