Are there any script versions of "Some Like it Hot" around anywhere?  I've looked some, but not too extensively.  If not, what would be the process for adaptation?  How do I go about adapting with copyright laws?  Or is that even a possibility?

    Thanks in advance!

There's a musical version called "Sugar" that's available through Tams Witmark. It's pretty good actually.

I saw it on tour as "Some Like It Hot, The Musical" with Tony Curtis in the Joe E. Brown role. If you are interested, you might talk to Tams and see if they will let you produce it under that name instead. I don't know if that will matter. I think it helped with marketing a bit.

Some great songs and most of the fun dialogue of the movie still intact.

I am not aware of any non-musical version existing. I strongly doubt it.

Let me know how it goes!

"Sugar" is a musical version of Some Like It Hot. Pretty sure there's not a non musical version. The musical is pleasant enough, but it's not as good as the movie (which is going to be true of any kind of adaptation).

Sugar is the musical version. Not sure about a straight play.

There are at least two. My understanding is that this property has been notoriously difficult to adapt. One is called "Sugar!" and I believe the other is called "Some Like It Hot"

Just saw this online... Apparently there is a new version headed to Broadway in 2020.  Doubt they would let it be adapted now....

Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig is the same premise.  It switches the character situations a little (actors instead of musicians) but it's very funny and I enjoyed it when I did it in grad school.
