  • 1.  Female Group Scene

I have a group of 6 girls who are all pretty strong and I am looking for a group scene for them.  The quality of the scene is more important to me than its style.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

    Maybe something from Steel Magnolias?
Something from Radium Girls might work as well, though it may be hard to find a scene where all 6 are together.

There's a scene for a group of girls, I'm pretty certain it is six (possibly seven), in To See the Stars by Cynthia Mercati.  They've been jailed for striking (shirtwaist factory, early 1900s).  I think there are actually two sections in the prison that can be combined to make a longer scene (I don't have the script in front of me at the moment).  It's a strong scene, with great challenges.

Check out Rock of Ages by Mary Kron - NO!  NOT the MUSICAL!
It takes place in a coal mining town and the issues of being women in this environment.  Great piece!

There is a wonderful play by Jessica Swale called Blue Stockings that has some. Also, Changing Rooms is a one act by Jackie Carreria is a wonderful script with 6 strong female characters.

Look at Will by Lila Louise Nawrocki. It's an all female piece that is really interesting and loses one character each scene.

As it Is in Heaven has a cast of 9 women, and Afflicted: Daughters of Salem has a cast of 6. If you want something completely ridiculous, but lots of fun, check out Vrooommm! It also has a cast of 6. I'm not certain about the scene sizes, though I think each one as at least one scene with 6 characters.
