Do you have a way to check the mic cable between the crown mic and the console (or stage input, where ever you are plugging it in)? Is it possible that cable is bad? I also agree about Phantom Power. They do need that unless they have a battery you can install. This is usually the step I forget when mine don't work. You might also try checking the gain on the console channel to make sure it is hot enough (I'm assuming you have control over your channel gains).
