If Metal is your option, you could possibly, if you have a shop class for metals, have them build you something, this might be more economical than shelving. If not Sams club, cosco, your local...Lowe's, Home Depot, Menard's might be an option.
I understand that the shelves are made of wood, the question is if you put wood items on the metal shelving will the Fire Marshall still consider this an infraction?

Our schools/cities Fire Marshall has demanded for our Theatre room to be torn down. We previously built wooden lofts for all of our set and prop materials. This has upheld for the past 5 years, but today was told we have to remove it all immediately. I am in need of help as too find a replacement (Huge metal warehouse fire compliant shelving) or a loop hole.
