Give your gut impulse answer: Looking for scenes from musicals for classroom scene study. Ideal are scenes that are a bit meaty (not necessarily heavy or anything--just not the "this is just filler to get us to the next song" type of scene), involve a lot of people (20 would be great!--not everyone needs to have a speaking part), be appropriate for middle school, and lead into a song. I've got some ideas I'm parsing, but I thought I'd throw it out to the group on the chances that someone might have the perfect scene sitting there right on the top of their brain. Thanks.

Newsies has a few, like Act 1 Scene 5, which leads in to "The World Will Know" or Act 1, Scene 8 into  "Seize the Day." These would be especially good for middle school students.

Urinetown - the scenes going into Privilege to Pee, Look to the Sky, or Act I Finale. Aside from the title, there's nothing inappropriate in the scenes.
