    Hello!
In in need of some help. Several years ago- early-mid 2000's my Highschool Drama Teacher had this article that she shared with us that said " You are not the hot dog" it was basically about still being talented, but not quite right for a role.. Does anyone remember this? She said it may have been in Dramatics Magazine.

I had to click on this post for the title alone!

I can't help with the "hot dog" article, but I tell my students a similar idea with a show being a salad; to make the best salad you need to have all the right combinations of ingredients. When I'm at the grocery store looking for lettuce (a role), it doesn't matter how many incredible carrots I see, I need lettuce for the salad. So even though the carrots might just be the most talented root vegetable I've ever seen, they aren't the lettuce that would make my salad complete.
