Any suggestions for medieval, hand held torches that look Locke they are lit? I thought about the new LED bulbs that look like fire that were mentioned in another post, but also need a “handle” for the torch and I’m drawing a blank.

    Thanks

Several years ago, my tech guy made a torch for PIPPIN.  He used a piece of dowling (fairly large diameter) as the handle.   He attached a soup can to one end with a sheetrock screw (You could use whatever size and shape can you want).  To "fancy it up" and make it look more period, he wrapped a few strands of rope (natural fiber rope) around the base of the handle, then a few strands right under the can.  The whole thing was then painted brown and "aged" with some dry brush texture.

Thanks, this sounds amazing. Do you remember how you showed it when it was lit?
