I am working on the Beauty and the Beast Maurice invention cart. I want smoke to come out the top but I don't want to use a flash pot, dry ice or compressed air. I would like to use water vapor but all I am finding are fake actor cigarettes. I would like an on/off switch that I can wire to a 12 volt battery. I did find this on Amazon but you need to hold down the switch to let the element heat up.

    Good morning,

There is actually a product called canned smoke. It’s about the size of a hairspray can. It is very effective. We mounted it horizontally and pointed it up and out the chimney. The actor controlled it with their elbow.

I wonder if you could use a household/room humidifier.

I did see the canned smoke but I would worry it could set off smoke detectors and no on/off switch.
I did find a 12 volt car/home humidifier. for the price, I think I will try it.
