    Good evening everyone,

My school is performing Joseph Robinette's THE LION, THE WITCH, and THE WARDROBE.  I'm looking to rent an Aslan stage puppet. I've already run into a few dead ends, but if anyone knows of a place, a company, a school, I'd be most grateful.  If this does not work out, I'm hoping to approach Aslan in a way that won't make him look like a poor man's cowardly lion.  I want him to be majestic and regal.

ARGH. I just saw a fantastic Aslan puppet a few months ago . . . but it unfortunately lives in Scotland.

Is the one from Stage Monkey not working? If not, I'd recommend contacting Mesner Puppet Theater and asking what they have available in terms of lion puppets. I believe Paperhand also has a lion-head available for rental.

I dont know if this will work but I have seen fur masks with moveable mouths at Target recently. They are not bad and have a Beast  of Beauty and...fame that might do. You might be able to construct a suit to go with it?

    Good luck!

We just completed our production of Robinette's The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

I'm attaching a handful of photos of our Aslan costume from different angles in case you are interested. We can provide additional details upon request.

The show has a surprising amount of technical challenges, but they are worth the effort to make it come to life.

My students performed this play several years ago. They made a Aslan movie and projected it on the scrim when it was times for Aslan to appear. Just a suggestion in case you get stuck. :)
