Below is the email I sent each fall to elementary and middle school principals and teachers in our county. (Of course, I edit the play title and dates.) About a month before the show, I send those who have made reservations a Teacher Packet, created by my students. My students examine samples of teacher guides from professional theatres, then create one for our show. My students have created powerpoints, coloring sheets, reading guides, and much more for our teachers to use.

The Christiansburg High School Blue Demon Drama Department is excited to present matinee performances of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe on Wednesday, January 24, and Thursday, January 25. (We also have snow dates of January 31 and February 1.)
This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features chases, duels, and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan's resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more. The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life. (Dramatic Publishing)
Our shows will begin at 10:15 a.m., and will last approximately 75 minutes without intermission. Admission is $1 per person, including teachers and adults.
If you would like to reserve seats for your students, please contact me via email right away. I will reserve your seating area in the order in which I receive requests. Students from the same school will be seated together whenever possible. Please include the date and the anticipated number of students that you will be bringing with you.
The cast will consist of CHS students, many of whom you will recognize as YOUR former students. The cast and crew list is below for your perusal.
