  • 1.  Theatre Differentiation Project

For my portfolio for the state of Florida, I must do a Differentiation project involving Theatre. I've tried to research some on the web and most of what I've found is for Elementary Drama. Any ideas on how I can incorporate a Differentiation project into High School theatre? I've probably thought too long and hard on this and I'm sure it's easier than I'm making it out to be but any advice or suggestions are welcomed :)

If by Differentiation-- you mean differentiated instruction-- IE: meeting the needs of various learning styles in one classroom-- then, too me, theater is at is essence differentiated.  In a group preparing a scene, students will play many learning roles-- director, actor, dancer, prop maker, lighting designer, sound effects and or board op-- they'll be using many different skills in each of those roles while serving the same enterprise and some students will use many if not all of those intelligences in one activity.

I think it would be possible to meet many learning styles even through a simple improvised skit.

Best of luck to you in your project
