I am planning to direct Hands on a Hardbody next year and am looking for the prop truck (no engine, on castors, etc).  The ones I have found have been a considerable distance from northwest Georgia with steep shipping costs.  Does anyone in the southeast know of a truck I can rent?

I used A to Z Theatrical. They were amazing!!!!! Ask for Lesa!! Hands is one of my top 5 favorite shows I've ever directed and I have been doing this 27 years! It's a gem!!

Try hitting up a local car dealer. They might loan the truck for advertisement.

Break a leg and may all your theatre seats be filled!

    Hi Rob,

We no longer have a truck available for rental, but TheatreWorks in Florida does rent a truck.  If you could email me directly at rschlossberg@samuelfrench.com, I'll give you the direct contact info for them.

Ask you local car dealerships if they will donate a car for the performance in exchange for advertising.

The trick is that is has to be on casters and light enough for the actors to move easily. It's also supposed to wire into the light board so it can light up during at least one of the numbers. So trying to use a real truck and not one designed for the show is tricky. It also HAS to be a red Nissan from the 90's because it's referenced and described so often in the script. We had to rent one of the show ones. It's expensive, but you could try to partner with your local Nissan dealer to help offset the costs. We did some extra advertising and did a preview performance just for the Nissan employees. I'm sure you tried this? Hands On A Hardbody Truck
